For the second half of 2009, we have received sponsorship for project MIKITA from Voeten in de Aarde and Oxfam/Novib.
Because of their generous financial support, we are able to accomplish an higher goal than we planned for the year 2009.

PROJECT MIKITA – DAR ES SALAAM REGION

The first group of 9 women attending custom made tailoring courses within VETA training college, started on September 209.

This group will start to attend custom made tailoring courses within VETA training college at the last quarter of 2009 / Begin January 2010. Meanwhile this group is preparing for skills evaluation by VETA. This will give us and VETA an idea of which training level they can start with.

The professional custom made courses offered by VETA to our 2 groups in Dar es salaam are:

  1. Business entrepreneurship
  2. Making tie & dye materials
  3. Embroidery
  4. Men’s wear
  5. Making decorative accessories
  6. Field visit

 

PROJECT MIKITA - TABORA REGION

Our project coordinator Mr Walter Simime, has been working hard to establish Project MIKITA in Tabora. Currently contracts negotiations with VETA – Tabora are in progress. We aim to start trainings for a group of 10 women in October 2009.
